Rohit and Virat set for much-awaited return

The upcoming one-day assignment between India and Australia will mark the international returns of both Rohit and Virat. The two have been absent from the Men in Blue's squad since the Champions Trophy final against New Zealand held earlier this year in March. Though both of them were expected to play a key role in the five-match Test series against England, they ended announcing their retirements in May, a few days before the assignment commenced.

Rohit and Virat's brilliant record on Australian pitches

Both Rohit and Virat do have splendid records when it comes to ODIs played in Australia. On one hand, Rohit has 1328 runs under his name in the 30 ODIs that he has played Down Under while on the other, Kohli is just a whisker away from him at 1327 runs in 29 ODIs. Both have five ODI hundreds each while batting in the country.

The opening match of the ODI series will be played at the Optus stadium in Perth on October 19 and then the action will move to the Adelaide Oval where the second match will be contested on October 23. The series finale will be played at the Sydney Cricket Ground on October 25. Following the conclusion of this assignment, India will lock horns against Australia in a five-match T20I series that will begin from November 29.
