India spinner Varun Chakravarty revealed that the head coach Gautam Gambhir has installed a mentality in the team that losing is not an option and mediocrity is not allowed at all in the side. Chakravarthy, who was part of India's Asia Cup-winning squad under Gambhir's guidance, is currently spending time with family ahead of the upcoming white ball series against Australia.

Notably, Chakravarthy played a crucial role in the Asia Cup 2025, picking seven wickets in six outings at an average of 20.42, with best figures of 2/29. The Karnataka spinner said that under Gambhir's guidance, losing is not an option, and mediocrity is not allowed at all in the team.

Gautam Gambhir's current assignment
After India's Asia Cup 2025 win, head coach Gautam Gambhir has joined the Test squad for the two-Test match series against West Indies, where India have registered a dominating win in 1st Test. The second Test match will take place from 10 to 14 October at Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. He has also invited Team India for dinner at his residence before the second Test.
Varun Chakravarthy's upcoming assignment
Varun Chakravarthy will now be seen featuring against Australia in the five-match T20I series. Team India will play a three-match ODI series and a five-match T20I series against Australia, which is scheduled to start from October 19 with ODIs. The T20I series will start from October 29.
