Cricketing governing body International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the nominees for September, where India's destructive batter Abhishek Sharma has been included for his impressive performance in the Asia Cup 2025 and apart from that, Zimbabwe star Brian Bennett has also been included in the tally for his performance last month. Here are the players who are included in the list of nominees for September.
Abhishek Sharma (India)
The southpaw smashed 314 runs in seven outings of the Asia Cup 2025, including three fifties with a staggering strike rate of 200. His destructive batting at the top order helped the Suryakumar Yadav-led side dominate throughout the tournament.
Abhishek also reached the highest batting rating ever recorded in men’s T20I history with 931 points, continuing his rapid rise on the international stage.
Kuldeep Yadav (India)
The left-arm spinner also has a great outing in the recently concluded Asia Cup 2025. He was the highest wicket-taker in the mega event with 17 scalps in seven outings at an economy rate of 6.27.
He started the campaign with 4/7 against the UAE at Dubai International Stadium in Dubai and ended with 4/30 against Pakistan in the title decider at the same venue.
He picked at least one wicket in all of India's outings of the Asia Cup, which helped the Men in Blue to clinch their ninth Asia Cup title.
Brian Bennett (Zimbabwe)
Zimbabwe star Brian Bennett also cuts with his exceptional touch throughout September, scoring 497 runs in nine T20Is at an average of 55.22 and a strike rate of 165.66.
After dominating performances against Sri Lanka and Namibia, he carried his form into the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Africa Regional Final, scoring 72, 65 and 111 in his first three innings, respectively.
Brian Bennett's iconic performance in batting helped Zimbabwe to secure qualification for the 2026 T20 World Cup.
