Mitchell Starc dismissed Yashasvi Jaiswal for a golden duck.

Starc bagged 6 wickets for 48 runs in Adelaide Test.

Starc's six-fer helped Australia bowl out India for 180.

The Border-Gavaskar Trophy has witnessed several rivalries over the years. The latest entrant is Mitchell Starc versus Yashasvi Jaiswal. The opening batter's banter with Starc went viral when he called the left-arm pacer "too slow" during his 161-run knock at Perth Stadium. Starc did not respond to it even after the match when asked about the incident in a podcast. On the first ball of the Adelaide Test, he exacted his revenge with the pink ball. Jaiswal was out lbw first ball to Starc's swinging full delivery. After Day 1's play, Starc said that he did not do anything special to get the better of Jaiswal.

“At the stumps, hit the pads. That’s it. Nothing special," Starc told the media when asked about his plans to bowl to Jaiswal.

“That’s been my role for a while: to attack the stumps and try and make early inroads. Pleased to sneak one past today. We know how important it is to make early inroads into this batting lineup," he said.

“It’s always a nice way to start. It is a big Test match, it’s a big series."

Starc focused on second innings

Starc went on to take six wickets for 48 runs, his career best. However, the 34-year-old understands that it is a big series and Jaiswal is capable of making a comeback in the second innings like he did in Perth.

“He (Jaiswal) had a good Test match last week. So, yeah, nice to get him early. And then we’ll have to work on him in the second innings, I guess so," said Starc.

Starc happy with top order's batting display

After bowling out India for 180, Australia were 86/1 at the end of Day 1's play. Starc was impressed by how under-pressure Nathan McSweeney and Marnus Labuschagne tackled the Indian bowling lineup.

“Arguably the hardest time to bat is that third session with the brand new pink ball. To finish the day one down, particularly from Marnus and McSweeney there to fight through that and obviously sustain pressure from a quality bowling attack… and to come out the other end with a chance to go on tomorrow.

“It was fantastic from them. So, yeah, very pleased from there," added Starc.
