Nitish Kumar Reddy's counter-attack followed by KL Rahul and Shubman Gill's partnership helped India to score 180 on the Day 1 of the ongoing Pink Ball Test against Australia. Nitish was the highest run-getter for India scoring 42 runs. He also smashed sixes off Mitchell Starc's ball. For Australia, Starc was the pick of the bowlers, he wreaked havoc with the pink ball and opened the claws by taking a 6-wicket haul. Now the Indian bowling led by Jasprit Bumrah would like to hold on to the match.

Yashasvi Jaiswal got out on golden duck

After opting to bat, young left-handed batter Yashasvi Jaiswal was unable to take India to a good start as he got out on a golden duck. Mitchell Starc sent Yashasvi Jaiswal (0) to the pavilion on the first ball of the ongoing Test match. After Jaiswal, there was a partnership of 69 runs between Gill and KL Rahul. Then Rahul, who got two lives, became Starc's second victim and got out after scoring 37 runs in 64 balls with 6 fours.

Nitish Kumar Reddy's last-minute knock

After the second wicket fell at 69 runs, the sequence of Team India's wickets falling did not stop and Starc gave India the fourth blow by dismissing Virat Kohli (7). After Kohli, captain Rohit Sharma (3), Rishabh Pant (21), and Ravichandran Ashwin (22), who came in the middle order, also got out early. While Nitish Reddy spent a lot of time at the crease and scored 42 runs in 54 balls with three fours and three sixes. Due to this Team India's first innings was limited to 180 runs. While Starc took the maximum six wickets for Australia.
