IND vs ENG: Turning 'no balls to wicket,' things only Jasprit Bumrah can do!

India were at their possible best on Day 2 of their fifth and final Test match against England, and spearheading their attack was skipper Jasprit Bumrah. After a spirited batting performance that also saw him smashing a world record, 35 runs off Stuart Broad's bowling, Bumrah also scalped three wickets as England finished Day 2 at 84/5.

But there was a massive coincidence in two of the three scalps that Bumrah managed on Day 2. His first wicket, that of Alex Lees, officially came in the sixth ball of the third over, but the reality was that it was actually the 8th ball. This is because Bumrah had bowled consecutive no-balls, but also managed to rattle Lees' stumps behind him as the opener had to return to the pavilion.

His third wicket — that of Ollie Pope —  came in the 8th over in a similar fashion, although Bumrah did not need a second no-ball to pick up his wicket. This was a major coincidence as the stand-in Test skipper managed to continue his utter dominance.

The England batters were unable to handle Bumrah's lethal pace in the second session with the score reading 60/3 at tea. Batting at the time were former England Test skipper Joe Root (19*) alongside Jonny Bairstow (6*).

In between the wickets of Less and Pope, Bumrah also scalped the wicker of Zak Crawley, who managed to score just nine runs after he was caught by Shubman Gill on third slip. Once Joe Root was on the crease, Pope and he tried to stabilise the innings, but Pope was then dismissed by Bumrah for just 10. This time, it was a catch taken by Shreyas Iyer at second slip that was enough to send back the batter to the pavilion.

Meanwhile, the remaining two wickets were taken by Mohammed Siraj and Mohammed Shami respectively. Siraj did well to get Root dismissed caught behind with a pitch-perfect swinging ball, while Jack Leach was the final wicket to fall on Day 2, dismissed by Shami after another caught behind.

Currently, on the crease is England's in-form star form Jonny Bairstow was up next. He added 16 runs with Root before rain interrupted the play and his dismissal. Bairstow is on 12 runs, while skipper Ben Stokes is yet to open his account.
