India are dominating in the ongoing fifth and final Test match against England at Edgbaston as the Jasprit Bumrah-led side have left the hosts in lurch after sending half of the English side to hut after scoring colossal 416 runs in the first innings.

After rain god hindered the opening two days which witnessed stop-start action, Day 3 started under the scorching Sun which also saw tempers flaring up between Virat Kohli and Jonny Bairstow.

Bairstow and England skipper Ben Stokes took the crease when the scoreboard read 84/5. Bairstow looked little uncomfortable while facing Mohammad Shami in the 31st over which sparked the verbal altercation between Kohli and the English batter.

Virat Kohli was seen unhappy with Jonny Bairstow after the England batter said something to the former India captain. Even as Bairstow tried to calm things down with a pat on Kohli's back, the star Indian batter was not holding back as he kept having a go at Baristow from the slip cordon.

Kohli asked the England batters to stop talking and focus as there was plenty of drama in the first 30 minutes on Day 3 of the Edgbaston Test.

Kohli apparently told the English batter,  "Jonny Bairstow can see everything on the ground apart from the ball". This triggered Bairstow and he ended up exchanging words with Kohli. Kohli replied," Just stand and f***ing bat don't tell me what to do."

The two on-field umpires, Aleen Dar and Richard Kettleborough had to step in and calm things down between the two star players.

However, Jonny Bairstow put behind the early distraction and took the attack to the Indian bowlers. He went after Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj to hit a 50 off just 81 balls. Bairstow partnered with captain Ben Stokes as the two England batters pressed the aggressor's putton to put the pressure right back on the Indian bowlers.

England batter Jonny Bairstow had played a pivotal role in England's win against New Zealand as he smashed 377 runs in four innings, laced with two centuries and an unbeaten 71.

The verbal volley between the top players on Day 3 followed another incident on Day 2.

Shami troubled Birstow on Day 2 as well, who was simply sensational on Saturday.

And watching Bairstow struggling to middle the ball against the India pacer, former skipper Virat Kohli ruthlessly sledged him using Tim Southee's name. The incident happened at the end of the 14th over as stump mic picked up Kohli's words at change of ends. He said, "Little bit faster than Southee, eh?"
