India's aggressive T20I opener Abhishek Sharma has lost his no.1 spot in ICC T20I rankings for batters. The ICC rankings were updated hours away from the T20I series opener between India and England. Abhishek's teammate, Ishan Kishan has taken the top spot with a seven-point lead (876 rating points).
Abhishek, who bagged a golden duck against Ireland in second T20I, has slipped to the second place with 21 more points than third-placed Sahibzada Farhan. The left-handed batter lost the top spot for the first time in nearly 11 months. He had dethroned his Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) opening partner Travis Head to take the place at top.
While Abhishek scored a 20-ball 49 in the first T20I against Ireland, Kishan did not have a good run against Ireland either. He registered scores of 1 and 12 on Ireland tour.

Buttler up, Surya slips
There was good news for England's wicketkeeper-batter Jos Buttler as well. Buttler went up one place to take seventh spot as former India T20I skipper Suryakumar Yadav slipped to eighth position.
Samson takes a huge dip
There were no other changes in top 20. But, opener Sanju Samson slipped five places to 26th after a lacklustre Ireland tour. Samson lost his wicket to left-arm pacer Jai Moondra in both the innings.
Varun, Bumrah slip one place each
In the T20I rankings for bowlers, spinner Varun Chakaravarthy and pacer Jasprit Bumrah slipped one place each to third and sixth respectively. As a result Abrar Ahmed and Adam Zampa took the second and fifth place respectively.
Chakaravarthy missed the Ireland T20I series due to left foot injury. Bumrah has been rested for the T20I series against Ireland and England as part of workload management.
Dube rises
All-rounder Shivam Dube jumped three places to seventh in ICC T20I all-rounder rankings. The first spot still belongs to Zimbabwe's Sikandar Raza. As Dube climbed up, Mohammad Nabi, Jason Holder, Mohammad Nawaz and Mitchell Santner slipped one place each.
After a historic series win, Ireland's Gareth Delany (24) and Harry Tector (38) enjoyed gains of four and eight places respectively.
