Story Highlights:

Harry Brook won the toss and opted to bat first for England, with Josh Tongue replacing Saqib Mahmood in the playing XI.

Shubman Gill confirmed Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the series decider with a knee injury, while KL Rahul, Prince Yadav and Arshdeep Singh returned to India's XI.

England captain Harry Brook won the toss and elected to bat first in the third and final ODI against India as both teams made multiple changes to their playing XIs for the series decider.

The biggest talking point from India's camp was the absence of Jasprit Bumrah, with skipper Shubman Gill confirming that the premier fast bowler has been ruled out due to a knee injury. India have brought in Prince Yadav and Arshdeep Singh, while KL Rahul also returns to the XI.

England, meanwhile, made one change with Josh Tongue replacing Saqib Mahmood.

What the captains said after the toss

Winning the toss, Harry Brook said England would bat first, believing the surface looked good for putting up a competitive total. He also confirmed Josh Tongue replaces Saqib Mahmood in the playing XI while expressing confidence about England's chances of clinching the series after their victory in the previous ODI.

"We're going to have a bat today. It looks like a good surface, hopefully we can get a decent score on the board and put them under pressure. Tongue comes back in for Saqib," Brook said.

Shubman Gill revealed that India would have preferred to bowl first as well but confirmed three changes to the side.

"Boom misses out, he's unavailable due to some knee injury. And so is Washington Sundar. Dube also misses out. KL comes in, Prince Yadav comes in, and Arshdeep comes back into the team."

Gill further explained that India opted for four seamers on the surface, adding that the team believed Arshdeep Singh's skillset suited the conditions better than an additional spinner. He also said India needed to avoid the middle-order collapse that hurt them in the second ODI and hoped the batting unit could post a total in the 280-300 range if given the opportunity.
