Star India all-rounder Hardik Pandya's injury troubles have taken another disastrous turn, with a quadricep issue forcing him to miss the ongoing ODI series against Afghanistan. Notably, The latest injury has also cast doubt over his availability for India's upcoming white-ball assignment against England.

Latest update on Hardik Pandya's fitness

According to a latest report by The Times of India, India's star all-rounder will follow all the training routines suggested by the Centre of Excellence (CoE). The report further suggests that Hardik is expected to start jogging and running over the weekend, with net practice to follow suit.

After missing the ongoing ODI series against Afghanistan, Hardik will also miss the upcoming T20I series against Ireland and England respectively. However, if his fitness routines go as per the plan, Hardik might make his return in the ODI series against England.

Notably, Hardik is not picked by the selectors for the upcoming Asian Games, where India will participate in the T20 competition. The cricket competition at the Asian summit will commence from September 24.

The star all-rounder is very crucial for the Indian side, as he provides the actual balance that the Shubman Gill-led side looks for in the preparation of the 2027 ICC ODI World Cup. With keeping all things into consideration, Hardik Pandya's fitness becomes a serious concern, as the selectors are trying to manage his workload, as he is very prone to injuries.

Currently, India is 1-0 ahead of Afghanistan in the three-game ODI series. The second ODI will be played on Wednesday, June 17 at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.
