Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on November 19 announced the 16-member India women's ODI squad for the three-ODI series against Australia next month. Harmanpreet Kaur will continue to lead the ODI squad.
There were two notable omissions from the ODI squad are opener Shafali Verma and Shreyanka Patil. Shafali has not been in the best of forms of late. She scored 56 runs in the ODI series against New Zealand at home last month. Meanwhile, Shreyanka warmed the benches during the ODI series as she was recovering fron shin splints.
Dayalan Hemalatha, Uma Chetry and Sayali Satgare are also missing from the ODI squad that featured in the series against New Zealand.Hemalatha is currently representing Perth Scorchers in Women's Big Bash League (WBBL) 2024. She has 88 runs from six innings so far with a high score of 41.
Harleen back in squad
Harleen Deol has made a comeback to the ODI squad. Her last ODI appearance was against Australia at Wankhede Stadium in 2023. She has 207 runs from 10 ODIs at an average of 25.87 including two half-centuries. Richa Ghosh has returned as well after missing the home series against New Zealand due to Grade 12 final exams.
Australia captain doubtful after knee injury
Meanwhile, Australia are yet to announce their squad. Skipper Alyssa Healy is doubtful for the series who suffered a knee injury and was ruled out of the ongoing WBBL 2024. If she fails to recover from the injury, Tahlia McGrath is set to lead the hosts.

ODI series schedule
The ODI series will begin on December 5 at Allan Border Field, Brisbane. The second ODI on December 8 will be played at the same venue as well. The third and final ODI of the series will be played at WACA Ground, Perth on December 11.
