Zimbabwe Cricket on November 18 announced their squad for ODI and T20I series at home against Pakistan. Craig Ervine will lead the ODI squad whereas Sikandar Raza will lead in T20Is.
Zimbabwe have included three uncapped players for the series. Trevor Gwandu, Tashinga Musekiwa and Tinotenda Maposa will be making their debut in the series.
“The series against Pakistan is an important platform for Zimbabwe, and we believe the ODI squad we have selected is well-rounded,” said ZImbabwe's Convener of Selectors, David Mutendera.
“The presence of seasoned players like Craig, Sikandar and Sean provides stability, while young players like Clive Madande, Brian Bennett, Dion Myers and the uncapped trio bring energy and the potential for game-changing moments.”
A few notable omissions from the T20I squad are Ervine, Sean Williams and Joylord Gumbie. The chief selector said that they wanted to pick the same squad that did well in ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 sub-regional qualifier in Kenya last month. Zimbabwe broke the record for highest score whereas skipper Raza the fastest century in the format.
“We felt it was essential to maintain the same T20I squad that excelled in Kenya,” Mutendera explained.
“This continuity allows the team to build on the cohesion and confidence that drove their outstanding performance.”
The ODI and T20I series will commence on November 24 and December 1 respectively. The three-T20I and three-ODI series will be played at Queens Sports Club, Bulwayo.
