Punjab Kings (PBKS) registered their second consecutive win of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) but maintaining a slow over rate has led to monetary loss for captain Shreyas Iyer and the entire team. Once again, PBKS took nearly two hours to complete their bowling innings. Bowling 15 wides and one no ball in total, 2.4 overs more turned out to be expensive for the entire team.

As a result Iyer has been fined Rs 24 lakh for maintaining a slow over-rate since it is his second offence in the ongoing tournament. The rest of the playing eleven and the impact player will also be fined Rs 6 lakh each or 25 per cent of their match fees, whichever is lesser.

Who bowled most wides in PBKS’ bowling lineup?
While Arshdeep Singh bowled the joint-longest over in IPL history in PBKS' previous encounter, this time it was their South Africa recruit Marco Jansen. The Proteas left-arm pacer bowled six wides. The next on the list is leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal who bowled three wides and a no ball. Arshdeep bowled three wides as well. Australian pacer Xavier Bartlett bowled two wides whereas all-rounder Marcus Stoinis bowled one. Vijaykumar Vyshak turned out to be the only PBKS bowler who did not conceded a single extra in the innings.
CSK cross 200-run mark
Put to bat first by Iyer, CSK posted a total of 209/5 on the board, thanks to Ayush Mhatre's 43-ball 73, Shivam Dube's unbeaten 27-ball 45 and Sarfaraz Khan's 12-ball 32 cameo. Vyshak wa also the pick of the bowlers with wickets of Mhatre and Sarfaraz.
PBKS register another win
PBKS were always in the run chase. Priyansh Arya contributed with a 11-ball 39 cameo before falling to Matt Henry. Prabhsimran Singh misses his fifty as he was run out for a 34-ball 43 after a mix-up with Cooper Connolly. The young Australian scored 36 runs from 22 balls, getting out to a poor full toss from Anshul Kamboj. Skipper Iyer scored a 29-ball 50. Towards the end of the run chase, PBKS lost Iyer and Nehal Wadhera but finishers Shashank Singh and Stoinis took them over the line.
PBKS are now at the top of the points table. They will face Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in their next clash on April 6 at Eden Gardens. PBKS will look to finish their bowling innings within the stipulated time. While Iyer may not face a ban, demerit points and heavier fines will come into play if PBKS falter again with over-rate.
