As 10 teams splashed INR 639.15 crore to purchase the services of 182 players to fill their squads over two days at the mega auction in Jeddah on November 24 and 25, the IPL and player auctions merely kept creating new stories and trends. After the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) made a dramatic increase to their final bid from INR 20.75 crore to INR 27 crore, making it unaffordable for the wicketkeeper batter's former team, the Delhi Capitals, India's Rishabh Pant ended up making IPL history as the most expensive player. Following the spectacular build-up, teams focused on their rosters and began preparing for the 2025 campaign.
