Sanju Samson of Rajasthan Royals and Shreyas Iyer of Punjab Kings at the toss during the 2025 IPL match at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium on April 5, 2025, in Mullanpur, Mohali, India.

Highlights:

Shreyas Iyer missed entering top five list by just eight runs.

Sai Sudharsan, Jos Buttler can surpass Nicholas Pooran on April 6.

3 SRH batters also have a chance to break into top five.

On April 5, there were no changes in the top five run-scorers in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Punjab Kings (PBKS) captain Shreyas Iyer missed out on the chance to enter top five as he was dismissed for 10 runs by Rajasthan Royals (RR) pacer Jofra Archer. PBKS ended up losing the match by a huge margin of 50 runs at home, their first of the season.

Lucknow Super Giants' (LSG) Nicholas Pooran still holds the top spot followed by Gujarat Titans' (GT) Sai Sudharsan, LSG's Mitchell Marsh, Mumbai Indians' (MI) Suryakumar Yadav and GT's Jos Buttler.

Samson misses fifty but enters top 10

The only change in top 10 after the double-header Saturday was Rajasthan Royals (RR) captain Sanju Samson moving to eighth position. Samson scored 38 runs from 26 balls before losing his wicket to Lockie Ferguson. He has 137 runs from four games so far.
