Gujarat Titans (GT) stars Sai Sudarshan and Jos Buttler have made significant strides in the race for the orange cap after defeating the Rajasthan Royals by 58 runs in their fifth outing of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. After smashing 82 off 53, Sudarshan becomes the second-highest run-getter after Lucknow Super Giants' (LSG) batter Nicholas Pooran, who scored 288 runs in five matches. 

On the other hand, Jos Buttler also scored 36 runs in 25 balls and is currently on fourth in the Orange Cap tally. Buttler has scored 202 runs in his five IPL outings. Rajasthan Royals (RR) captain Sanju Samson scored 178 runs in five IPL outings and he is currently on seventh position on the table. Samson is the only batter from RRs who is in the top 10 list.

Virat Kohli and Rajat Patidar under spotlight

On April 10, a few changes are expected in the Orange Cap tally as Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will lock horns against Delhi Capitals (DC). Last edition’s highest run-getter, Virat Kohli who scored 164 runs in four innings, can move up to fifth position as he needs 35 runs to surpass Suryakumar Yadav, who is currently holding the spot, scoring 199 runs in five outings. On the other hand, RCB captain Rajat Patidar scored 161 runs in four matches, the star batter needs 41 runs to surpass Jos Buttler (202) to become fourth in the list.
