Rajasthan Royals' (RR) star Riyan Parag was involved in a heated argument with the umpire after getting dismissed in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 clash against the Gujarat Titans (GT) at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The incident happened during the seventh over when Parag was batting alongside skipper Sanju Samson.
While facing pacer Kulwant Khejroliya, Parag who was playing on 26 runs tried to play a shot to the third man but appeared to edge the delivery through to wicketkeeper Jos Buttler. The RR star opted for DRS review, where it showed a spike on UltraEdge as the ball passed the bat, prompting the third umpire to stay with the on-field decision.

Parag was not satisfied with the third umpire's decision and was supposedly convinced that the spike came from his bat touching the ground rather than an edge. He briefly stopped and engaged in a tense exchange with the umpire before unwillingly leaving the field. The clip of the incident went viral on social media. Here is the video.
Parag who captained RR in the first three matches of the IPL 2025 when regular skipper Sanju Samson played as an Impact Sub due to a finger injury, has scored 135 runs from five innings at a strike-rate of 160.71.
Coming back to match, after being asked to bat, Sai Sudharsan's 82 off 53 helped the Gujarat Titans to score 217/6 in 20 overs. While chasing, the Sanju Samson-led side was bowled out for 159 in 19.2 overs.
RR are currently seventh in the points table tally, the 2008 IPL champions managed to win two matches out of five in the ongoing season. RR will now face Royal Challengers Bengaluru for their sixth match of the cash-rich league, which will take place on April 13 at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
