Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will lock horns against Mumbai Indians (MI) in their upcoming IPL 2026 clash on April 23 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Amid the hype of the game, CSK pacer Mukesh Choudhary has received devastating news, as he lost his mother.
Bad news for Mukesh Choudhary
The Chennai-based franchise confirmed the news by sharing an emotional message, expressing support to the player and his family during this difficult phase.
"The CSK family mourns the passing of Mukesh Choudhary’s mother. We stand with Mukesh and his family, keeping them in our thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time," CSK wrote on X (FKA Twitter).
As per the recent updates, the left-arm pacer has left the team's camp to visit his hometown, Bhilwara for his mother's last rites. Mukesh Choudhary is playing for CSK since the 2022 season impressing everyone with his wicket-taking ability in the powerplay.
In the ongoing 2026 season, Mukesh was not included in the line-up, but later got a chance in a game against Sunrisers Hyderabad, after Khaleel Ahmed got ruled out of the tournament because of an injury. In that game Mukesh impressed everyone with a great spell of 2/21, removing Travis Head and Ishan Kishan from the crease. It will be intersting to see how CSK fares against MI after losing a key player.
