After suffering a horrible neck injury while taking Priyansh Arya's catch in Delhi Capitals' clash against Punjab Kings on Saturday, April 25 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, Lungi Ngidi is looking all set to make a comeback in the game against Rajasthan Royals. The speedster was rushed to a nearby hospital in Karol Bagh. As an outcome, Ngidi had to miss DC's next game against Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Monday, April 27.
Good news for Axar Patel's Delhi Capitals

The news of Ngidi making a return is a big boost for the Delhi-based franchise as they are aiming to make a strong comeback after a horrible display against Rajat Patidar-led RCB.
Coming after a great show at the recently concluded ICC T20 World Cup, Lungi Ngidi has managed to pick seven wickets in seven appearances in IPL 2026 at an economy rate of 8.70 and has maintained a bowling average of 29.43.
Considering his efficiency in bowling slower deliveries, Ngidi could be a big asset against RR at the flat surface of Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
Ngidi, Starc to play vs Royals?
For the RR clash, DC are likely to receive a huge boost. Ngidi and Mitchell Starc are set to bolster the lineup. Starc joined the squad before the PBKS clash but had to acclimatise. As two overseas pacers are set to start, DC may rest Nissanka again. It is yet to be seen whether Parakh plays ahead of Abishek Porel despite a two-ball duck on debut as he got bowled by Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
DC’s net run rate (NRR) took a hit after the defeat to RR. They need to win at least five out of their remaining six games to have a chance of making it to the playoffs.
