Shubman Gill reflects on IPL 2026 final loss vs RCB

The Shubman Gill-led side lost to RCB, while defending a low score of 156 on the flat surface of Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, on Sunday, May 31. In response, RCB finished the chase with sheer comfort, where Virat Kohli grabbed the Player of the Match award for his unbeaten 75 off 42 balls.

After two days, GT skipper reflected on the loss through an emotional social media post, where he expressed his pain of losing despite being so close. However, Gill admitted that moving on from the loss is the only option as he is going to represent India in the coming few days.

“We came so close but could not get over the line. It hurts deeply and the disappointment weighs heavily, but this game that we all love teaches us so much about life, wrote Gill.

"One thing it’s taught me is that there is no defeat in losing, as long as we keep coming back and not give up. Now we go again for the country 🇮🇳," added Gill.

At the end, Gill expressed his gratitude towards the fans as they backed GT till the last moment of the final clash.

"I want to thank each and every one of you who stood by us through the highs and the lows. Your energy pushed us to the very end," concluded Gill.
