James Neesham becomes 5th bowler in T20I history to achieve rare feat against Pakistan

James Neesham caused a batting collapse with a five-wicket haul in the fifth and final T20I series of the match. Here is the list of top five bowlers with five-wicket hauls against Pakistan in the format. 

5. Former Australia left-arm pacer James Faulkner claimed five wickets for 27 runs against Pakistan in T20 World Cup 2016. Faulkner helped Australia beat Pakistan by 21 runs.
 

4. Australia's left-arm pacer Spencer Johnson claimed five wickets for 26 runs against Pakistan on November 16, 2024. His fifer helped the hosts bowl out Pakistan for 134 in Sydney and win by 13 runs.

3. James Neesham became the second Kiwi seamer to take a fifer against New Zealand in T20Is. Neesham took five wickets for 22 runs against Salman Agha-led side.
 

2. On December 26, 2010, Tim Southee took five wickets for 18 runs including a maiden against Pakistan in Auckland. He helped New Zealand restrict Pakistan for 143/9. The hosts won by five wickets.
 

1. The top spot belongs to South Africa's Dwaine Pretorius who claimed five wickets for 17 runs against Pakistan at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore on February 23, 2021. Pakistan managed to post 144/7 on the board and South Africa chased it down with six wickets in hand. 
 

James Neesham's 5 for 22 is also the third-best bowling figures by a New Zealand pacer in T20Is. He is the four New Zealand bowler to take a fifer in T20Is after Tim Southee, Lockie Ferguson and Adam Milne.
