Top 5 run-scorers in BBL 2024-25, two batters yet to make their IPL debut
Hobart Hurricanes' Mitch Owen surpassed David Warner to finish as the highest run-scorer in the Big Bash League 2024-25.

Hobart Hurricanes on January 28 won their first-ever Big Bash League (BBL) title. They beat David Warner's Sydney Thunder in the final of the tournament, thanks to young Mitchell Owen's record-equalling hundred. Here is a list of top five run-scorer in the recently concluded season -

5. Melbourne Stars' Marcus Stoinis scored 311 runs from 11 innings at an average of 28.27 including one fifty. His strike rate of 124.40 is the lowest on the list. Stoinis will play IPL 2025 for Punjab Kings.

4. Melbourne Stars' Glenn Maxwell scored 325 runs from 9 innings at an average of 54.16. He scored three half-centuries including a stupendous 90 amidst collapse. He will play for Punjab Kings in the upcoming IPL season as well.

3. Perth Scorchers' Cooper Connolly scored 351 runs from 10 innings at an average of 50.14. He scored two half-centuries in the season. The 21-year-old is yet to bat in T20Is.

2. Sydney Thunder captain David Warner has scored 405 runs from 12 appearances at an average of 45. He scored three half-centuries and led his team to BBL 2024-25 final. Warner remained unsold in the IPL 2025 mega auction.

1. Hobart Hurricanes' young opener Mitch Owen scored 452 runs from 11 innings at an average of 45.20. He scored the joint-fastest century in the league's history in the BBL final. He did not score a fifty but has 2 centuries to his name. Also, his strike rate was a stupendous 203.60.

Mitch Owen smashed as many as 36 sixes in the tournament, the most in a single edition. The previous record belonged to former Sydney Thunder batter Alex Hales who hit 30 sixes. His strike rate is also the best in a single edition.
