The match was finely poised in Agartala when Tripura found themselves at 102 for 3. Vihari took control, building a massive 210-run partnership with wicketkeeper-batter Sentu Sarkar.The partnership was eventually broken by Ayushman Malakar, who had Sarkar caught for a well-made 94 in what proved to be the final over of the day. By the time stumps were called in Agartala, Tripura had reached 316 for 4 in 84 overs, securing a significant advantage heading into the next day's play.

Musheer Khan roars with splendid century for Mumbai
In another match, Mumbai's young batter Musheer Khan dominated with the bat, scoring a robust century against Himachal Pradesh. Mumbai seems to have developed a pattern of staging stirring fightbacks, largely due to a wobbly top order. On Saturday morning, Day One of their Ranji Trophy Elite Group D match at the MCA ground in BKC, they elected to bat first but quickly ran into trouble, slipping to 35 for three and then 73 for four after losing the key wicket of the out-of-form Sarfaraz Khan (16 off 57 balls).
However, Sarfaraz's younger brother, Musheer Khan (112 off 162 balls), and the seasoned batsman, Siddhesh Lad (100 not out off 207 balls), aptly nicknamed Mumbai's 'Crisis Man', mounted a brilliant rescue effort. Their centuries and a course-changing 157-run partnership for the fifth wicket bailed the hosts out, successfully stonewalling Himachal Pradesh for 234 balls. For 39 consecutive overs, the Musheer-Lad duo forced the Himachal bowlers, who had initially capitalized on a pitch known for aiding seamers in the morning, to toil hard for a wicket under the blazing sun. Notably, the pair added $116$ runs in 28 overs without being separated between the lunch and tea breaks. Himachal Pradesh finally heaved a huge sigh of relief when Musheer was dismissed in the final session. Despite this breakthrough, Lad continued his resilience, forming an unbeaten 59-run stand for the sixth wicket in 137 balls with wicketkeeper-batter Akash Anand (26 not out off 86 balls). Thanks to this recovery, Mumbai finished Day One on a strong 289 for five.
Auqib Nabi runs riot with sizzling fifer against Delhi
Auqib Nabi has recently emerged as a big threat to batters across India's domestic circuit. On the first day of the Elite Group-D Ranji Trophy clash at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Saturday, it was Delhi's turn to face the full brunt of the swing bowler's shrewd skills. The 29-year-old from Baramulla delivered an exceptional spell, claiming five for 35 and playing the leading role as Jammu & Kashmir bundled out the host for just 211 runs. This performance marked the medium-pacer's third five-wicket haul of the 2025-26 Ranji season, bringing his impressive tally in this campaign to 24 scalps in four matches.
However, the contest remained delicately poised at stumps. Delhi's quick bowler, Simarjeet Singh, immediately retaliated by striking thrice in his opening spell. His impactful burst left Jammu & Kashmir in a spot of bother, with the visiting side finishing the day at 31 for three at the close of play.
