Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has reportedly called up a key meeting with the Indian team management to chart a comprehensive roadmap across all formats of the game. Sportstar reported that the aim of the meeting is also to address the concerns over communication gap between the management and senior players within the Indian camp. This meeting is set to take place in Raipur on December 3.

BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia, joint secretary Prabhtej Singh Bhatia, head coach Gautam Gambhir, and the chairman of the national selection committee, Ajit Agarkar is expected to be present in the meeting. Given that the meeting is planned on the same day when India will take on South Africa in the second ODI, it is considered unlikely that senior players will be called upon to participate in the discussions.
Confusion tactics on and off the field
The report also suggested that the core reason behind conducting this meeting is to ensure that the selectors and the team management remain on the same page. This collaborative effort aims to maintain consistency in team selection, significantly improve individual player development pathways, and ultimately enhance the overall performance and efficiency of the national team across all formats.
“During the home Test season, there have been instances of confusing tactics on and off the field. We want clarity and forward planning, especially with the next Test series eight months away. India will be favourites to defend the T20 World Cup next year and strong contenders for the ODI World Cup after that, so we want these issues resolved quickly,” the official said as quoted by Sportstar.
