Thursday (August 18), marks Virat Kohli's 14th anniversary of International cricket, a player who redefined the modern cricket with his utmost dedication, unflinching grit and a sheer hardwork and etched his name in the eternity of Indian cricket history.

 

Beside his batting wizardry, Kohli also racked up some unbelievable feats being India skipper after taking over the captaincy mantle from MS Dhoni.

 

On completion of illustrious 14 years of his International cricket, Kohli walked down the memory lane on Thursday and shared a montage on his Instagram reel which featured some of the iconic moments from his glorious career.

 

He captioned the reel,"14 years ago, it all started and it's been an honour".

 

 

Former India skipper rose to fame after leading India to the U-19 World Cup title in 2008. He went on to make his T20I debut in June 2010 and played his first Test in June 2011.

 

Kohli has so far played 102 Tests, 262 ODIs and 99 T20Is.

 

He has scored 8074 runs in Tests, with 27 centuries. In ODIs, he has 12344 runs to his name, with 43 tons to his name. In T20Is, Kohli has scored 3308 runs with 30 half-centuries.

Virat Kohli is the fastest batsman to reach 4,000 runs as captain in Tests. He reached the landmark in just 65 innings. The previous record was held by Brian Lara, who had scaled the height in 71 innings.

 

Virat Kohli is the fastest to score 1,000 ODI runs in a calendar year
Virat Kohli is the fastest person to score 1000 ODI runs in a calendar year (11 innings). The previous record was held by Hashim Amla who had achieved the feat in just 15 innings.

 

Virat Kohli is the fastest to score 10,000 ODI runs

Virat Kohli is married to Bollywood star Anushka Sharma and they have a daughter Vamika. He is the fastest batsman to reach 10000 ODI runs. He took just 205 innings to reach the milestone, breaking the record held by Sachin Tendulkar, who did it in 259 innings.

 

Virat Kohli is the only batter to score over 900 runs in an IPL season

Virat Kohli is the only batter with 900-plus runs in a season in the IPL. In IPL 2016, he struck a stunning 973 runs from 16 matches at an average of 81.08.
