Australia's T20 World Cup 2021-winning captain Aaron Finch is set to return to field again after announcing his retirement from all forms of cricket on February 6. Legends League Cricket (LLC) announced on February 21 that Finch will play in the upcoming season which is scheduled to start on February 27.

“I had a great run in my last 12 years of career. It is emotional to retire from international cricket when you play for your own country but we have to move on from the game considering betterment for the National team. With LLC, offering us this opportunity to retired players will help us come out of the feeling of not playing cricket. This will bring in a much relief as every retire player will have a chance to be back on the field again. Really appreciate this initiative. I am excited for my second innings,” Finch said on his association with LLC Masters.

Finch has represented in five Tests, 146 ODIs and 103 T20Is. The 36-year-old retired as Australia's highest-run scorer in T20Is. The Victoria-born batter has scored 3,120 runs from 103 innings at an average of 34.28 including two centuries and 19 half-centuries. His highest T20I score is 172. "When we started Legend League Cricket, we were sure to bring in every player back into the field, who has retired from the international cricket. Most of the cricketers went on, to either become commentators, coaches or opened their cricket academy, despite having lots of cricket left in them. Even the fans want to see them in action. It gives immense satisfaction and happiness to welcome Aaron to be on board to play with us at LLC Masters,” LLC’s co-founder and CEO Raman Raheja said in a statement.
