Danish Kaneria blamed Pakistan government for Pahalgam terror attack

Danish Kaneria slammed Pakistan deputy PM Ishaq Dar.

After calling out Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for not reacting to the Pahalgam terror attack, former Pakistan cricketer Danish Kaneria slammed Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar for calling the terrorists ‘freedom fighters’.

The incident happened on April 22 when terrorists launched a deadly attack on a popular tourist spot in Pahalgam on Tuesday (April 22), killing 26 people. This was the deadliest in the Kashmir Valley since the 2019 Pulwama attack.

As per IndiaToday, The Resistance Front (TRF), an affiliate of the banned Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), has claimed responsibility for the massacre. The incident has received widespread condemnation, with top leaders of the world raising their voices against terrorism.

Pakistan deputy PM Ishaq Dar bizarrely called them ‘freedom fighters’. The comment wasn’t received well by Kaneria, who termed his statement ‘disgraceful’ and stated that it was an open admission of harbouring terrorists. Kaneria took his 'X', formerly known as Twitter, to slam the deputy PM.

“When the Deputy Prime Minister of Pakistan calls terrorists “freedom fighters,” it’s not just a disgrace — it’s an open admission of state-sponsored terrorism,” wrote Kaneria on his X account.

Speaking to reporters in Islamabad, Dar had said, "Those who carried out attacks in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam district on April 22 might be freedom fighters". as quoted by IndiaToday.

Earlier, Kaneria pointed out the Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif for his silence and blamed him of ‘sheltering and nurturing terrorists.’
