Dayal is accused of sexual exploitation under the guise of marriage. While the Allahabad High Court has granted him protection from arrest, the Jaipur High Court has denied him the same relief. Despite his legal troubles, Dayal has been a standout performer on the field. The 27-year-old was set to play for the Gorakhpur Lions in the UP T20 league after being purchased for Rs 7 lakh. Dayal has been in excellent form over the past two years and was a key player for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in their 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) victory, where he took 13 wickets.

Yash Dayal's career is in serious jeopardy due to two sexual assault cases, with the most recent one being filed at the Sanganer Sadar police station in Jaipur. This case involves a minor who has accused the cricketer of repeatedly raping her over a two-year period. She claims he used emotional blackmail and lured her with promises of a cricketing career to continue the abuse.

According to the complaint, the victim, who was just 17 at the time, first met Dayal during an IPL match in Jaipur. Dayal allegedly invited her to a hotel in Sitapura under the pretense of offering career advice, where he first sexually assaulted her. The victim alleges that this pattern of abuse continued for two years, starting when she was still a minor. Due to this, the police have registered the case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
