Story Highlights:

Tayla Vlaeminck hasn't played international cricket since October 2024.

Australia A are scheduled to tour India for 3 T20s, 3 One-Days and 1 four-day game.

Cricket Australia (CA) on August 4 unveiled their Australia A women’s team squad for India tour that will feature three T20s, three One-Dayers and one four-day game. Pacer Tayla Vlaeminck will mark her return to competitive cricket after nearly two years. Dropped from T20 World Cup 2026 squad in England, Darcie Brown is a part of the 15-member squad as well.

Vlaeminck's previous appearance on international cricket stage was in October 2024 during a T20I against Pakistan. She has faced injury setbacks that have kept her out of action for a long time. Earlier this year, she had played a three-day game where she bowled six overs in an innings each. It was her first game since dislocating her shoulder.

On the other hand, Brown faced a shock snub from Australia's T20 World Cup 2026 squad. She was replaced by young left-arm pacer Lucy Hamilton whose only wicket in the campaign was in the final against hosts England. 23-year-old Brown's previous international cricket appearance was against West Indies in April earlier this year.

National selector Shawn Flegler is delighted to have the pace duo back in action.

"Both bring invaluable international experience to the group and having them alongside some of our younger players provides a great opportunity for those emerging cricketers to learn from two world-class fast bowlers while continuing their own development," Flegler said ahead of the tour.

Australia senior team's assistant coach Gavan Twining will be the head coach of the Australia A side on India tour. He will be assisted by Mick Delaney and Cameron Boyce. 37-year-old Boyce is yet to announce his official retirement. He has played seven T20Is including two against India men's side at home.
