Cricket Australia (CA) have announced a couple of replacements in their Australia A squad for One-Day series against India A which starts on October 6. Following Aaron Hardie’s injury and Jack Edwards joining the ODI squad in South Africa, Riley Meredith and Will Sutherland have been named as replacements.
Hardie has been ruled out of the series due to a minor knee issue. Edwards was included in ODI squad as cover for Cameron Green. The all-rounder made his debut in Durban. After a wicketless outing, he claimed a five-wicket haul in a losing cause in Johannesburg ODI. He has been facing a hamstring issue as well ahead of the third and final ODI of the series against the Proteas.

Sam Konstas, Nathan McSweeney, Liam Scott, Mitchell Owen, Nikhil Chaudhary, Josh Philippe, Lachlan Shaw, Mahli Beardman, Ben Dwarshuis, Spencer Johnson, Todd Murphy, Tanveer Sangha, Billy Stanklake, Will Sutherland.

Changes to Australia A squad for 2nd unofficial Test
For the second unofficial Test which begins on September 29, Australia had made three changes. Sam Harper, Jhye Richardson and Liam Hatcher will replaced Brendan Doggett, Fergus O'Neill and Campbell Kellaway. The trio of Doggett, O'Neill and Kellaway will fly back home for Sheffield Shield 2026-27 season.
Big jolt to Australia ODI squad
Meanwhile, Australia pacer Nathan Ellis and left-arm spinner Joe Davies have been ruled out of the third and final ODI of the series against South Africa. Ellis suffered a side strain whereas Davies sustained a hamstring injury. Davies did not play in the first two ODIs but suffered a hamstring strain while he was fielding as a substitute.
With Ellis injured, Pat Cummins is highly likely to play the dead rubber as South Africa have already taken a 2-0 unassailable lead in the series. It is yet to be seen whether the senior pace trio of Josh Hazlewood, Mitchell Starc and Cummins play together in the third ODI, especially ahead of the three-Test series. If the trio plays, they will have plenty of time to recover as the Test series begins on October 9 in Durban.
