There is a big question mark on the venue for the upcoming Women's T20 World Cup 2022 due to the violence in Bangladesh in the last two months. The International Cricket Council (ICC) is thinking about shifting the tournament somewhere else. Meanwhile, efforts are also being made to keep the T20 World Cup in Bangladesh, but a statement by Australia women's cricket team captain Alyssa Healy has severely dented the hopes of keeping the tournament in Bangladesh. She said that according to the current conditions, it is not possible to play there. The women's T20 World Cup is proposed to be held in the month of October. UAE's name is being considered as an alternative to Bangladesh as a host.
Australian media, quoting Healy about holding the T20 World Cup in Bangladesh, 'I find it hard to fathom playing there at the moment. I feel as a human being it might be the wrong thing to do'. Violence had started in Bangladesh in the month of June which then engulfed the entire country. Hundreds of people lost their lives and thousands were injured.

Curfew was imposed to control the situation. Later Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina resigned from the post and left the country. She is currently living in India. After the intervention of the army in Bangladesh, an interim government has been formed but the situation is still not completely correct.
Other countries that can host the T20 World Cup 2024
After the situation got worse in Bangladesh, ICC started looking for alternatives for the Women's T20 World Cup. There was a consideration of holding this tournament in India also but BCCI flatly refused. Sri Lanka was out of the hosting race due to rain. Now there is serious discussion on holding T20 World Cup in UAE. Meanwhile, Zimbabwe has also expressed its intention to host this tournament. ICC had said that the dilemma regarding hosting will end by the end of August.
