The qualifier for the ICC T20 World Cup to be held in Australia later this year (ICC Men's T20 World Cup Qualifier A) is currently going on in Oman. And Bahrain's bowler Junaid Aziz showed his superb bowling skills in the event as the opposition Germany team was bundled out for just 106 runs. In reply, Bahrain reached the target successfully with 26 balls remaining.
Aziz on fire
Junaid Aziz just bowled 10 deliveries in the match and managed to pick five wickets out of the 10 balls he bowled. Aziz conceded just five runs in the match.
The fourth match of ICC Men's T20 World Cup Qualifier A was played at Al Emirates Ground. Bahrain had won the toss and decided to bowl first in the T20 match. The result of this was that Bahrain team destroyed the German team due to the lethal bowling of Junaid Aziz. Leg break spinner, Junaid was given the ball by the Bahrain skipper in the 15th over of the match. And as soon as he came to bowl, he conceded three runs off the first two balls and then three wickets off the next four balls.
However, during this he missed a hat-trick as well. In this way, after picking up three wickets off four balls, Junaid again came to bowl in the 16th over and this time he wiped out the German team by taking two wickets in four balls again.
Poor batting show
For Germany, their opening batsmen- Justin Broad (20 runs off 15 balls) and Vijayshankar Chikkannaiah (50 runs off 43 balls) started the batting convincingly. But a horrible batting order collapse saw the Germany team lose nine wickets within a span of just 64 runs.
Apart from the two opening batters, only one more player managed to reach the double-digit mark. Germany skipper Venkatraman Ganesan scored 20 runs off 18 balls.
This first win of the tournament helped the Bahrain team currently to hold the first position in Group A.
In this group, apart from Bahrain, there are other three teams and those teams are- United Arab Emirates, Ireland and Germany.
On the other hand, UAE, Nepal and Canada secure victories as well.
