Bangladesh vs West Indies 2nd ODI will take place on October 21.

Cricket West Indies have added left-arm spinner Akeal Hosein to the West Indies squad for the ongoing three-match ODI series against Bangladesh to strengthen their spin attack.

When will Akeal Hosein join West Indies ODI squad?

The 32-year-old is set to arrive tonight and will join the team ahead of the second ODI as West Indies look to bounce back after suffering a 74-run defeat in the series opener.

"Akeal is expected to arrive tonight to join the ODI team," Cricbuzz quoted a BCB official as saying.

West Indies handed a debut cap to Ramon Simmonds

Earlier, the West Indies handed over the ODI cap to 24-year-old left-arm fast bowler Ramon Simmonds, who previously represented the island nation in two T20Is.

At the same time, pace bowlers Jediah Blades and Shamar Joseph, who were part of the original squad, will head back to the Caribbean. Veteran all-rounder Jason Holder is expected to join the team on October 21, just before the T20I series begins.

Bangladesh also added a spinner to their squad

Earlier, Bangladesh added left-arm spinner Nasum Ahmed to their ODI squad after noticing the spin-friendly conditions in the opening match of the series.

Spinners played a key role in that game at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur. The pitch offered a lot of turn and bounce, leading both sides to strengthen their spin attacks. West Indies' Khary Pierre bowled tightly, giving away just 19 runs in his 10 overs and picking up a wicket. Roston Chase also chipped in with two wickets. On the Bangladesh side, Rishad Hossain and Tanvir Islam were the standout performers, sharing eight wickets and helping secure a big win for the hosts.

The second and third ODIs between Bangladesh and the West Indies will take place on October 21 and 23 at the same venue.
