The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on April 27 (Thursday) announced the annual player contracts for the country's senior women's team for the 2022-23 season. Three senior players, including captain Harmanpreety Kaur, have retained their Grade A contracts while five cricketers received Grad B contracts and nine players were in the Grade C category. Stylish opening batter Smriti Mandhana and all-rounder Deepti Sharma have been placed alongside Harmanpreet in the Grade A category. Poonam Yadav, who was in the Grade A category last season, has not received a contract for this season.
The complete list of players in different grade structures:
Grade A: Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, Deepti Sharma.
Grade B: Renuka Thakur, Jemimah Rodrigues, Shafali Verma, Richa Ghosh, Rajeshwari Gayakwad.
Grade C: Meghna Singh, Devika Vaidya, Sabbineni Meghana, Anjali Sarvani, Pooja Vastrakar, Sneh Rana, Radha Yadav, Harleen Deol, Yastika Bhatia.
Cricketers who are placed in the Grade A category will be entitled to an annual salary of Rs 50 lakh while the players who have received the Grade B contracts will be entitled to an annual salary of 30 lakh. Those cricketers who are placed in the Grade C category will receive an annual salary of Rs 10 lakh.
Meanwhile, the Indian cricket board had earlier in the month of March announced the annual player contracts of the senior men's team. A total of 26 cricketers were included in annual player contracts under four categories (A+, A, B and C). Players in the A+ category will earn Rs 7 crore, players in the A category will pocket a sum of Rs 5 crore, players in the B category will earn Rs 3 crore while players in the C category will earn Rs 1 crore.
