The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has thanked the outgoing assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate and fielding coach T Dilip. Ten Doeschate had joined the coaching staff after Gautam Gambhir’s appointment as head coach meanwhile Dilip had been the fielding coach since 2021. Dilip had introduced the ‘fielding medal’ in the dressing room which became a sensation during the ODI World Cup 2023.

Doeschate has already been appointed Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) head of strategy. Also, the former Netherlands all-rounder has been appointed has been charged with coaching, analytics, scouting/player development systems to build their long-term strategy across Knight Riders franchises.
Dilip is yet to join any franchise. He posted an emotional message on Instagram cherishing the two T20 World Cup title wins along with ICC Champions Trophy 2025, two Asia Cups and being runner-ups in ODI World Cup 2023 and World Test Championship.
He thanked former head coach Rahul Dravid and current head coach Gambhir. He mentioned a handful of players, considering it as a privilege. The players mentioned in the post are Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer.
Who is India’s new fielding coach?
57-year-old Subhadeep Ghosh will be India's fielding coach in the upcoming tour of Sri Lanka which will feature two-Test series. He was with the India women's team for ODI World Cup 2022 and T20 World Cup 2023.
India have reached Sri Lanka, days ahead of the three-day practice game in Colombo which will begin on August 7. The Test series opener will begin on August 15 in Galle.
Meanwhile, India are yet to name Doeschate’s replacement as assistant coach.
