Australia defeated India 3-1 in Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25.

After a humiliating defeat in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 in Australia and reports of "dressing room leaks" have reportedly forced the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to take strict action. The Indian Cricket Board reportedly removed assistant coach Abhishek Nayar is just eight months. Both fielding coach T. Dilip and strength and conditioning coach Soham Desai have been relieved of their duties.

As per Dainik Jagran, apart from Abhishek Nair, Team India's fielding coach T Dilip and trainer Soham Desai have also been sacked. Assistant coach Ryan Ten Descott will now look after T Dilip's work, as no one has been appointed in place of Nair and Dilip yet. Adrian Le Roux will replace Soham. South Africa's Adrian Le Roux is a part of the Punjab Kings in the IPL 2025.

The new support staff will join Team India before their upcoming red-ball series against England. Team India are scheduled to play a five-Test match series in England, which will start from June 20.

India's performance in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25

Rohit Sharma-led India failed to perform in the five-Test match series as Australia registered a 3-1 win against the Men in Blue to seal their spot in the World Test Championship Final. India captain Rohit Sharma, who missed the first Test match due to personal reasons, also faced a lot of criticism for his performance, and he even dropped himself from the fifth Test match.

Apart from Rohit, India veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin also announced his shocking retirement after the third Test match of the five-match series.

However, after the BGT fiasco, Rohit Sharma-led India won the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 by remaining unbeaten throughout the tournament.
