After the Sri Lanka series, Team India are currently preparing for the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh which is scheduled to start from September 19 and this Test series will be the first red-ball assignment for India's newly appointed head coach Gautam Gambhir. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will announce the India squad for the Bangladesh series today September 8.
India captain Rohit Sharma will be seen leading team India in red-ball cricket after the home series against England. As per Sports Tak sources, Duleep Trophy performances in the first round aren't expected to have a major say in the team selection for at least the Bangladesh series.
Indian speedster Jasprit Bumrah who last featured in the final of the T20 World Cup 2024 will likely be part of India's squad against Australia, Bumrah was rested since India's T20 World Cup win, he missed the T20I series against Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe and ODI series against Sri Lanka. BCCI source told Sports Tak.
“Virat Kohli who last played a Test match in January this year is set to make his return. Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal will continue to open the innings and Sarfaraz Khan will also likely to be in the mix. Ravichandran Ashwin Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel are also in the scheme of things” source further told Sports Tak.

When will India vs Bangladesh Tests take place?
India vs Bangladesh 1st Test match will be played a M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Chennai from September 9 to 23 and the second Test match will be played at Green Park Stadium in Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh). After this two Test match series against Bangladesh, India will host New Zealand for the three Test match series and after that, Rohit Sharma & Co. will travel to Australia for Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024 where both teams will play five Test match series starting from October 22. In total India will play 10 Test matches till Januray.
