Story Highlights:

Virat Kohli Rohit Sharma demoted to Grade B in central contract list.

Shubman Gill, Ravindra Jadeja and Jasprit Bumrah are in Grade A of central contract list.

The BCCI has announced the central contracts for the 2025–26 season for both the men’s and women’s teams. The contracts will be in effect from October 1, 2025, to September 30, 2026. Thirty senior men cricketers were awarded central contracts

Category A contract

The Indian cricket board made a massive change in their contract list as they removed A+ category. Notably, Jasprit Bumrah, Shubman Gill and Ravindra Jadeja are the only players who managed to get an A category contract.

Rohit and Virat demoted

Senior players Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have been moved to Grade B. The decision comes after both players retired from T20 and Test cricket, leaving them active in only one format. As a result, the BCCI has placed them in a lower contract grade.
