'Bumrah is a baby bowler. He is nowhere close to Shaheen's level': Ex-Pakistan all-rounder makes astonishing statement

When it comes to the greatest bowlers in contemporary cricket, India's Jasprit Bumrah and Pakistan's Shaheen Afridi are two of the best in the sport right now. Coincidently, both pacers have been struggling for fitness of late and their absence has had a direct impact on their respective team's performance. The Indian pacer has been out of action since August 2022 and missed the Asia Cup and T20 World Cup owing to his injury. The Pakistan speedster got injured during the T20 World Cup final against England and has since been undergoing rehabilitation.

While cricket fans around the world have often voiced their admiration for the fast bowlers, who played monumental roles in the team's success in recent times, former Pakistan all-rounder Abdul Razzaq, who is also a part of the national selection panel, made a bizarre comparison that left fans chuckling on his negligence. In an attempt to appreciate his countryman, Razzaq tried to shame the Indian pacer.

"Shaheen Afridi is way better than Jasprit Bumrah. Bumrah is nowhere close to Shaheen's level," he told a local news channel on the sidelines of an event.

This is not the first time Razzaq has thrown shade at Bumrah. In 2019, the former all-rounder made a similar statement in an attempt  to take a dig at the Indian pacer.

"I have played against great bowlers like Glenn Mcgrath and Wasim Akram, so Bumrah is a baby bowler in front of me and I could have easily dominated and attacked him," Razzaq had then said to Cricket Pakistan.
