The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season proved to be a memorable one for Punjab Kings (PBKS), as they reached the final for the first time in 11 years, though they narrowly missed out on the title. Under the leadership of captain Shreyas Iyer, key players like Arshdeep Singh, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Marcus Stoinis were instrumental in the team’s impressive run. Among the standout performers was young Delhi batsman Priyansh Arya, who made a significant impact.

Arya, opening the batting, scored 475 runs in the tournament at a striking rate of around 180, including a brilliant century. His fearless batting at the top provided Punjab with crucial momentum throughout the season.

Priyansh Arya Creates History in DPL 2025

Just two months after his IPL heroics, Priyansh Arya made headlines again, this time in the Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2025. On August 8, playing for Outer Delhi Warriors against East Delhi Riders, Arya smashed a sensational 111 runs off just 56 balls, hitting 7 fours and 9 sixes. This was his second century in the league, having earlier scored one for South Delhi Superstars in DPL 2024.

With this innings, Arya became the first player in DPL history to score multiple centuries, a remarkable milestone. His form in DPL 2025 had been underwhelming until this point, managing only 50 runs in his first three innings. But this explosive knock signalled a strong return to form, and he’ll be keen to carry this momentum forward.

Priyansh Arya's century helped the Outer Delhi Warriors post a massive total of 231 runs. Karan Garg also chipped in with a valuable 43 off 24 balls.

Despite a shaky start, East Delhi Riders pulled off a stunning chase, winning the match by 5 wickets. Skipper Anuj Rawat led from the front with a superb 84, while Arpit Rana added a crucial 79 to seal the victory.
