The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) announced all-rounder Nat Sciver-Brunt as their new captain for the women's team. She succeeds former skipper Heather Knight, who resigned from the position after England's horrible campaign in the Ashes, where the side failed to register a single win.
Nat Sciver-Brunt, who is a key figure in England's lineup since her debut in 2013, will lead the side in all three formats of the game.
Sciver-Brunt won the ICC Women's Cricketer of the Year in 2022 and 2023. She was also named PCA Women's Player of the Year in 2017 and 2022. She has also been a part of the ICC Women's ODI and T20 Teams of the Year in 2023.

She earlier led the England team in 2021 for the first time in the third T20I match against New Zealand. She was also in charge of the Commonwealth Games in 2022.
She recently featured for the Mumbai Indians during the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2025, where she became the first player to score more than 500 runs in a single edition of the tournament, scoring 523 runs.
