Indian wicketkeeper batter Sanju Samson who was part of India's T20 World Cup 2024 squad revealed his emotions after Rohit Sharma-led side won the title defeating South Africa in the final by seven runs at Kennington Oval in Barbados on June 29. Samson is currently in Zimbabwe for the five-match T20I series led by Shubman Gill where the veteran cricketer played three matches.
Samson said that he is very fortunate to be part of India's T20 World Cup-winning team and gave credit to everyone who has contributed to the marquee event.
“The emotions are still going through. The photos are still around. It was an unbelievable experience. I couldn't stop smiling. Very fortunate to be part of the team. Credit to everyone who contributed. It was a complete team effort" said Samson on T20 World Cup triumph.
“We might be making some changes, there might be some shuffle in the batting order, hoping to get some time in the middle”added Samson.
The veteran cricketer also opened up on his Rajasthan Royals (RR) captaincy in the Indian Premier League (IPL), he thought that he understands cricket a bit more when you lead a team.
I have been leading RR for the last four years. There have been some legends. I take care of legends and youngsters. You understand cricket a bit more. When you are a captain, you think about other players and other teams as well. I have been getting better” said Samson after IND vs ZIM toss.
Team India have lost the toss in the fifth T20I against Zimbabwe and asked to bat first at Harare Sports Club in Harare.
