Took 10 wickets in a first-class match last season, represented England Lions against India last month, 17-year-old Farhan Ahmed bagged a five-wicket haul including a hat-trick for Nottinghamshire in their four-wicket win over Lancashire in ongoing T20 Blast 2025.
Nottinghamshire bowed out of the tournament with a win. This was their seventh win out of 14 games in North Group. But, they failed to make it to the quarterfinal stage.
Lancashire's big names fail
Farhan was introduced into the attack in the fourth over. He ended Keaton Jennings' stay by knocking him over, Jennings hit two fours and a six in his 12-ball 20. In the next over, Liam Patterson-White struck twice to dismiss Phil Salt and Luke Wells. In the eighth over, Matthew Montogmery got the wickets of Jos Buttler and Ashton Turner. Lancashire lost half their side for 53 in eight overs.

Farhan finishes with hat-trick
Chris Green and Matthew Hurst shared a sixth-wicket stand of 63 runs. In the 17th over, Hurst was run out for a 32-ball 36. In the 18th over, Farhan dismissed Green for a 26-ball 29. On the final three balls of the innings, Farhan got wickets of Luke Wood, Thomas Aspinwall and Mitchell Stanley to complete his hat-trick. Lancashire were bowled out for 126.
Early collapse in the run chase
In the run chase, Nottinghamshire lost four early wickets. Wood got the wicket of Joe Clarke in the first over. Then, left-arm spinner Tom Hartley got Sam Seecharan out caught and bowled and Montgomery lbw. In his second over, Wood got the wicket of Jack Haynes. Nottinghamshire were 14/4 after three overs.
Moores' 75 takes Nottinghamshire home
Moores took on Wood and Hartley to make use of powerplay overs. In the ninth over, Moores reached his fifty from just 23 balls. Luke Wells got the breakthrough with Lyndon James' wicket. He scored 20 runs from 24 balls. Daniel Sams arrived at the crease and looked to wrap up the run chase. In the 16th over, Moores was run out by Green's direct hit. He hit seven fours and four sixes in his 42-ball 75. On the second ball of the 16th over, Sams got Nottinghamshire over the line. They won by four wickets with 28 balls to spare.
