Having won the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 title with Gujarat Titans (GT) was a massive achievement for Wriddhiman Saha. The wicketkeeper-batter started the season slowly but picked up the pace in the latter stages of the competition as the side led by Hardik Pandya romped to the title in their first season in the tournament.

After the premier event, the veteran batter opened up to Sports Tak in an exclusive interview and spoke up about a wide array of topics ranging from the captaincy of Hardik Pandya, the choice to not play for Bengal anymore, among other things

Here are excerpts from the interview:

Will you play for Bengal anymore?

I have decided not to play for Bengal anymore. Before the IPL I had already made this decision. After playing for so many years. I was hurt by the comments made by the officials of the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB). Also, CAB had not taken any steps against it. So, I have decided not to play.

Which state you are going to play?

Various teams are there. I have not decided about it.

On Hardik Pandya

Hardik Pandya is a very good captain. Not only is he a good captain, but he has made a comeback as well. He also changed his game and fitness.

Dinesh Karthik has made comeback at this age. Do you think you should also make a comeback?

No, I think I cannot make a comeback. The selectors and management, I think don't want me anymore. But I will try my level best. Maybe it's the selector's call.

On Journalist threat controversy!

My purpose was that I wanted to make everyone aware of it. Everyone should know the type of Journalists there are. I don't want to ruin anyone's career. But it's the BCCI's decision.

On various controversies during IPL

I don't bother about all these things. I just want to perform. And I did that. Whenever I play, I give 100 per cent in the field.
