Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar recently visited Pakistan to participate in the 23rd Meeting of the SCO Council of Heads of Government. Since his visit to the neighbouring nation, there were talks that there will be a discussion regarding the resumption of cricket ties between arch-rivals.
However, ANI quoted that there were no discussions regarding the resumption of cricket ties between India and Pakistan taking place during Jaishankar's Pakistan visit.
India have not played any cricket tournaments in Pakistan since the 2008 Asia Cup because of tense relationships between both nations due to terrorism.
India and Pakistan played their last bilateral series against each other from December 2012 to January 2013. After that\, both nations have only clashed at ICC tournaments and the Asia Cup. On the other hand, Pakistan travelled to India on three occasions since the 2008 Asia Cup.

Pakistan are set to host the upcoming Champions Trophy 2024 next year and India are yet to decide whether to travel to the neighbouring nation for the marquee event.
As per ANI sources, ICC is either looking to have the tournament go ahead in Pakistan as planned or take place in both Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as a part of the hybrid model.
As per this hybrid model, matches for India and knockout stage games will take place in Dubai. The third option is the entire tournament, taking place outside Pakistan, with Dubai, Sri Lanka or South Africa as possible hosts.
Pakistan last travelled to India in 2023 for the ODI World Cup where they failed to perform and got out of the tournament. The Men in Green are currently involved in a three Test match series against England where they have already lost the first Test match.
