Star Indian batter Virat Kohli helped the Indian cricket team end their 11-year-long trophy drought and win the prestigious T20 World Cup 2024 title after his match-winning knock played a crucial role in defeating South Africa in the Final which took place in Barbados. However, amidst all the celebration, he also found himself under fire after his Bengaluru pub One8 commune was found operating beyond the permitted hours, which forced the Bengaluru police to lodge a FIR against it.

As per a report from News 18, Virat Kohli's co-owned popular multi-city pub, One8 Commune was operating way past permitted hours and this information was received by a Sub-Inspector on the night patrolling duty. When the officer reached the pub around at 1:20 AM, he found the pub serving customers and based on this an FIR was registered.

According to the law, any restaurant operating beyond the permissible time limit i.e. 1 AM, can be and will be penalised. The report filed by Bengaluru police shows that Kohli's restaurant was open and serving customers at 1:20 AM, which is past the authorized hours.
"The One8 Commune pub at Kasturbha Road was found operating and serving customers at 1:20 am, beyond closing time on July 6th," reads the FIR registered at the Cubbon Park Police Station in Bengaluru.
Virat Kohli unlikely to return with Sri Lanka tour
Virat Kohli who is currently in London spending some quality time with his family was expected to make his much-awaited return with the upcoming tour of the Indian team to Sri Lanka. However, now as per the recent reports, BCCI will be giving Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Jasprit Bumrah further rest and they will most likely make their highly-anticipated return with the home series against Bangladesh. Virat along with Rohit and Jadeja have announced his retirement from T20Is after winning the T20 World Cup.
