Former Pakistan captain Nida Dar trolled after she posted a congratulatory post for India’s World Cup 2024 triumph. The ex-skipper faced slanders on the internet for the late response on the win. India defeated South Africa in the final of the T20 World Cup 2024 to clinch their second T20 World Cup title at Kennington Oval in Barbados on June 29. Indian captain Rohit Sharma along with Virat Kohli announced their retirement from the shortest format of the game soon after the World Cup win.
Nida Dar shared a post on her ‘X’ (formerly known as twitter) to wish team India for their World Cup win on September 5.
“Congrats to India on winning the T20 World Cup 2024. A special shoutout to Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli for their immense contributions to world cricket. Your leadership, skill and dedication have inspired millions around the world. Happy retirement legends,” she wrote on her X account.

Nida has captained the Pakistan Women’s team since 2023, The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has appointed fast bowler Fatima Sana as captain of the 15-member squad for the Women's T20 World Cup 2024 in the UAE in October taking the captaincy from Nida.

Nida Dar will now feature in the upcoming women's T20 World Cup 2024 which is scheduled to take place in UAE from October 3. Pakistan are in Group A with Australia, India, New Zealand and Sri Lanka. PCB have already announced their squad for the multinational tournament where they will play their opener clash against Sri Lanka.
