Following in the footsteps of his father Mohammed Azharuddin, Mohammed Asaduddin smashed a lovely 115 runs in 37 balls for Hyderabad at the Gymkhana club in the Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi T20 Tournament on Thursday, June 9. The former India skipper was quick to praise his son for his scintillating performance with a tweet.
"Asad surpasses my expectations by hitting this mammoth ton in 34 balls with 14 sixes. Congratulations Mohammed Asaduddin for the 115 off 37 balls in Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi T20 tournament at gymkhana ground, Hyderabad," a proud Azharuddin posted on Twitter about his son.
Asaduddin wreaked havoc with the bat, scoring his century in just 34 balls. His innings included hit 14 sixes as well.
The 32-year-old is emulating the legendary Yuvraj Singh, who picked up the sport from his father Yograj Singh and made a name for himself, winning multiple domestic and international accolades.
The former India captain played 99 Tests for India. Azharuddin was known as the wrist magician for the national team and was famous for his artistic batting using the wrist as well as his stupendous efforts on the field. Azharuddin scored 6215 runs in 99 Tests and 9378 runs in 334 ODIs for India.
