The Indian Test team has been hit by injuries ahead of their tour of Sri Lanka. As India are set to resume their World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27 campaign in just over a two weeks, there are a few fitness concerns in the current squad. In addition to Jasprit Bumrah and Sai Sudharsan's participation being subject to fitness, skipper Shubman Gill is looking for a fix to his chronic neck pain that ruled him out of second Test against South Africa last year.

As per a report by TOI, Gill has sought help from specialists who are not part of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). After the Test series against South Africa, Gill had faced the neck pain during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 as well which ruled him out of one game. It flares up at times when the India ODI and Test captain bats for longer periods which has led to a cautious approach ahead of Sri Lanka tour.
