On December 24, Virat Kohli got past the 16,000-run mark in List A cricket (ODIs, domestic One-Day cricket). Delhi’s Kohli marked his Vijay Hazare Trophy return with a 131-run knock in the successful run chase against Andhra Pradesh. While he is the second-highest run-scorer in ODIs, he has to cover a fair bit of ground to make it to top five-run-scorers in List A cricket.
Kohli now has 16,130 runs from 343 List A games at an average of 57.6, including 58 centuries and 84 fifties.

4. Sri Lanka's Kumar Sangakkara is way ahead with 19,456 runs from 529 games at an average of 43.52. The southpaw has 39 centuries and 120 fifties in the One-Day format.
3. Sachin Tendulkar has 21,999 runs to his name from 551 games. He averages 45.54 in the format. He has 60 centuries, a record still unbroken. He has 114 fifties in List A cricket as well.
2. Former England cricketer Graeme Hick had less than 4,000 runs in ODIs but he managed to score 22,059 from 651 List A games averaging 40 centuries and 139 fifties. He averaged 41.3 in the format.
1. The top spot is occupied by Graham Gooch. He had just over 4,000 runs in ODIs. He scored a mountain of runs for Essex. From 613 List A games, Gooch has 22,211 runs at an average of 4.016, including 44 tons. He has 139 fifties as well, the joint-most 139 fifties.
When will Kohli play next?
Kohli is expected to play in Delhi’s next clash against Gujarat. With multiple games left in the Vijay Hazare Trophy group stage and the three-ODI series starting on January 11, the 37-year-old may end up surpassing a few legends on the list.
